This concert was held to wish much success in this year's 2018 Winter Olympics held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. People from near and far ushered into the theater where some of the most classical Korean pieces were performed! To kick off the event the National Unification Advisory Council's President, Hyung Ryul (Eric) Kim, gave his welcoming remarks.
Followed by the Consul General of the Republic Of Korea in Atlanta, Young-jun Kim, FKASE's President, Hwan Son, and the Korean American Association of Greater Atlanta's President, Il Hong Kim, who gave their opening remarks. After all the prestige speeches were given and proclamations from neighboring regions were shown in support of the winter games, magnificent performances followed. Featured conductor, Min Park, lead the Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra.
What way to cheer on the Olympics without the Olympic Fanfare, which was led by John Williams! Numerous performers enchanted the audience with captivating vocals, amazing harmony within the orchestra, and traditional Korean performances. Needless to say, this wonderful concert sure held peace and harmony throughout the night as everyone enjoyed every act. With nearly less than a week away before the games, globally, people are celebrating the second Olympics to be held in South Korea since 1988. Starting on February 9th and lasting till February 25th, we wish much success and plenty of gold medals in this year's games!
